Special Order

I apologize for not posting last week, I participated in a vendor fair on Saturday and I spent the week before making items for the fair (minus the day I was sick and slept all day).

Which brings me to today's post. I had a lady who needed a baby gift and liked the Fold Out Scrapbook I had made, but it was in pink and the baby was a boy. So I told her I could make her one in blue and here it is.

I used the Sale-a-bration paper from last year and a sale-a-bration stamp set (not sure what year this one was from). And since I like for things to match, I decided to throw in a card for free.

Masculine Thank You Card

This is the "thank you" card that I made for the gentleman who cooked our meat for our Fall Festival at Church.

At first glance you might think I made this card with the Stampin' Up wood sheets, but I didn't. The wood is actually balsa wood. When I first got my big shot I was cutting all sorts of items just to see how well it would perform. I was going through my reject box - the plastic container full of rejected embellishments that I didn't want to throw away - and I found this top note diecut. Since this person loves to deer hunt, I thought this would make a great card for him.

Trim the Tree part 2 - Super Simple Ornament

To make this ornament, I cut a snowflake with my Big Shot and Snowflake die out of fun foam that has the paper backing. After cutting the snowflake, I peeled off the paper (auto adhesive) backing and added dazzling diamonds glitter. No glue, no mess, super simple.

Trimming the Tree

I just did one of those things that really irritates me when others do it - I put up the Christmas tree and it's not even Halloween yet. It really bugs me when you have to go looking through the Christmas stuff at the stores to try and find an isle with Fall or Halloween items. Yet I have my tree up.

I do have a good excuse. I had my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack October 22. Now everyone knows if you are going to make your own Christmas cards you have to start early, which is why I held the event in October. And since this was a "Christmas event", I decided to break out my little Christmas tree that I got last year for Christmas.

My plan for the tree was to decorate it with the seasons, but you all surely know by now that nothing ever goes as planned in the Jenkins' household. So this is the first time I got the tree out of the box. I then spent a day making some decorations for my little tree, and this is one of those ornaments. I made it from the new treat cups that can be found in the Holiday Mini. I have been taking my pictures indoors lately due to weather and beetles, so I apologize for the poor picture quality.

Delightful Decorations Ornaments

I love the little ornaments that you can make with the new Ornament Punch. I modified the one on the card and just used 3 punches instead of 6. The Ornament will lay flat on the card for mailing, then can just be popped back up for displaying.

The pearls from the Pretties Kit really sets off the ornaments. The ribbon on the card is retired Stampin' Up ribbon. I really miss that ribbon.

Thank You Card for the Dollar General

Here is a "Thank You" card that I made for our local Dollar General Store. You see, they have donated discontinued toys to our church. We used the toys recently as prizes for our carnival that we had for the community. We had games, big blow up slide and bounce house, cotton candy, popcorn and tons of "real" food too.. And it was all free and everyone was welcome.

Thanks to the Dollar General Store, when the kids played the free games they won tickets. They could then "buy" prizes with their tickets. The kids loved it and we all had a blast. I especially like the big blow up slide. Here is the biggest kid that we had on the slide - my husband. Thanks Vicki for the picture.

So back to the card. I made the card and I will have our whole church sign it Sunday. I apologize for my fingers in the picture, but I wanted you to be able to see the shimmer - I used the new Shimmer Paint on it - and it just showed up better if I tilted the card a little.

So much for plans

I told you things never go as planned in the Jenkin's household. Steve has been working a lot, ended up with an infected finger which he had to go to the doctor over, so the trim isn't done. So now we are shooting for tomorrow.

I now have my stamp room back in order and my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack is over, so I will (hopefully) be posting some new cards next week.

I've decided not to move my stamping supplies into the new room for now. It will be used mostly for a classroom, plus will give me space to spread out when I'm doing big projects. I have a lot of my handcrafted items displayed in there, so if anyone needs a gift come on over.

I'm waiting for some warm weather so I can paint my displays black, then I need to figure out some better lighting. I am thinking of buying another OTT light, a floor lamp maybe.

We're almost done,

Steve just has to put up the corner rounder, it's stained and ready, then the room itself is done. My son-in-law put together my desk last night and is coming back this evening to put together my table and chairs.

I did go ahead and clear out some of the stuff crammed in my old stamp room, so I started working on my Christmas Stamp-a-stack cards last night. It was the first time I was even able to find the table or desk in my old stamp room in a couple of weeks.

I'm still looking for a black cabinet but until I find what I want, I will use my old baker's rack. I also have some bookcases, that I am using to display my craft fair items on, that need painted black, but that project will definitely have to wait until this weekend.

So hopefully, other than painting some bookcases, my new room will be done tonight. But as a I have said before, things rarely go as planned at the Jenkins household. My husband's job has seriously gotten in the way of getting things done, but since it is my husband's job that is paying for it, I can't really complain. LOL!

I will post some pictures in the next day or so.

Getting Closer

The floor is almost done, just one more stip of the laminate and then we need to put up some corner rounder and it will be done. My poor husband was up until 1:30 this morning trying to finish the floor.

I have my favorite wallpaper person coming today - Marie - and she is putting up the border so I will be able to start moving everything back in tonight.

I can't wait to find my stamp room again. Things are going to get confusing, because I still have my "old" stamp room and will be using it but I'm branching out into the adjoining room. So I guess I will need to think of a name for the "new" stamp room so we don't get confused. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I will call the new room the class room, unless you all can give me some better ideas.
